Red,

I have always wanted one of these gorgeous dogs. I can promise a warm and welcome home, however having 3 already can only offer you a couple of hundred pounds. if you get stuck, which i very much doubt looking at the photos, i will gladly give one of your dogs a lovely home with a great working spaniel and a very lazy domesticated dalmatian.

Thanks mate,

These dogs are cheap. I have 2 black and White bitches and they where 650 each kc registered docked and dew clawed so these are a bargain!!

They are very intelligent dogs, and VERY head strong but I wouldn't be without my two (said with a heavy pointer head resting on my knee!!) and I can't wait to shoot with mine in the coming season!!

Good luck with the sale

Amazing family dogs always willing to please and very good and gentle with children of all ages. My 2 love to play with a friends 2 year old no problems at all. As with any dog just don't leave it on own with a young one!

Thanks for the info chaps :good: RED do you breed from your pointers often or was this a one off? Just moving house and finding work right now so unfortunately not in a position to have a dog at the moment but would love one at some point.

I know its a long way off but around spring next year I will hopefully be in a position to get a dog, so will make a note of your name if your dogs will have more litters in the future.

What are these like for a family dog not being worked?

they need a task if you don't give them one they will find one - Mine is the very worst familly dog, only lives for work and its hard finding him enough to do in close season. generally very high energy breed and can be very powerfull, don't want to put anyone off one i think they are great but there are enough getting destroyed through finding the wrong homes

I have one of Red's Pups from a previous litter, he's two and a half now, fantastic dog, very smart, extremely handsome (people stop us all the time to comment on him) and born to hunt. He does everything a GWP says on the tin, and would do it a lot better if I put the effort in on the training. The one thing that stands out about him though it his temperament, he's fantastic with my three kids who torment him to death. I know a few people who have HPR's purely as pets and their perceived problems come from them not knowing what the dog is programmed by genetics to do. If you're reading this forum, you've probably got a good idea what they're for and why they spend every dogwalk working the hedges and trying to hunt. If you understand this they'll make a great pet. you just have to spend a hell of a lot of time throwing balls for them, my dog just wants to fetch all day long.
