Scope Mounts

On mounting scope mounts to the BSA supersport.

Th mounts always lean to the left.this is noted on gap rifle to bottom

scope mount as a noticable angle.

Have used 2 peice mounts Hawkes and Accumounts

and a one piece mount all do the same.

It almost looks as if the short scope rail is not deep enough?

Anybody else had this prob?

Would BSA mounts be better?

Would adj on scope compensate for this?

mmmmmmmmm, without looking at it it is hard to tell but if all the mounts are burr free and new then something is definatly amiss. Is the gun new? if so then take it back to the shop and explain your problem, they might be able to see what the problem is straight away. If the gun is old then how did the scope get mounted before?

Not a great deal of help, sorry, but hopefully someone else will have a few ideas.

Oh and welcome aboard.

Thanks for your veiws and help.

Just taken off mounts which were had a burr and on placing a square

on them were out of sq, got file out, seem to be sitting nice know.

BSA supersport outfit from UTTINGS 4x32 scope and mounts.

This 1st set mount were cut due to recoil and the short scope groove

on the supersport, the scope groove cut very deeply into rear dovetail

on mount.

Such a recoil had to fitt arrestor block and maked with pencil to note any

creep.

On the BSA LIGHTNING from new has it got a fierce recoil as i read on this site

BSA supersport and BSA lightning basically same rifle.

BSA lightning xl whats the recoil like on them?
