silver pigeon 3
Hi, I am going to look at the litter of black Labs that i am having a dog from in the morning, they are coming up for 6 weeks old and i was wondering what questions i should ask? For a bit of background they are home bred and KC reg,i already have 2 dogs but this will be my first worker (and first puppy, as the others were rehomed dogs) and this is the first time i have seen them. As a seperate issue, i also have pick of the dogs from the litter - so how is the best way to pick a pup, or will it be obvious when i get there. Thanks in advance

apache
You want the parents hip and elbow scored. If possible the DNA blood test should have been done for the PRA.
kent
You want the parents hip and elbow scored. If possible the DNA blood test should have been done for the PRA. No tests no purchase imo. how do you fancy putting all those hours (years) of work into a dog and have it go blind or lame when its still a young dog. ok it can happen anyway but the chances are way higher without the tests. On another note it shows the thought that went into the breeding of the litter- both tested lots, no tests none
