harrymonk
I recently bought a well used but tidy Beretta 687 20g. All was well until my 12 yr old lad got a cartridge (Eley CT24) to pass the top ejector and sit behind it in the breach. after much swearing at him I got it out and tried another cartridge myself. It too with the lightest pressure went past the ejector. Further examination revealed the chamber to be worn and have too much play. I took it to my gunsmith who told me it was the cartridges I :< was using that were the problem. He put a different brand ( Express) in which were ok. Measuring the width of the rim of the cartridge showed the Eley was 9 thou narrower. Anyone else had similar problems? Thanks Chaps. I spoke with Simon Harris at Trulock and Harris who said he could slightly bend the ejectors towards the centre of the bore thus taking up the slack. Rio cartridges with a long brass top help too. caragh
Hi I had the very same problem with a 686E never did really resolve it. I just bought cartridges that usually did not slip past the ejector. btw the gun was only approx 18 months old. all the best steve

arjimlad
I used to enjoy using Gamebore Clear Winner in my Lanber until this happened to me once to often. Switching cartridges solved it.
