Pippin pup
Been Lambing the last few weeks and usually check round the lambing shed at about midnight. Anyway a few nights ago I could hear a couple of crows a longway up wind and then noticed the calls were getting closer and louder? Went outside and stood and listened and sure enough over the shed they came and I could just make out the shapes against the very dark sky. Been taking the Rifle as foxy about but wished I had taken the shot gun! Checked my watch, 12-50am! Anybody else seen this? Cranfield
They do fly late and apparently are the last birds to roost. You mention being in lambing fields and crows are notorious for scavenging around. The shepherds down here hate them as much as foxes. Pippin pup
Thanks for the move Cranfield. Last year in our roost shooting wood in feb after the Pigeons stopped coming in we waited untill nearly dark and had lots of crows coming in until it was too dark to see any more. This year the crows have moved to another wood, Shame. But did not realise they fly at night. Regards Pippin Pup
