WoodyPopper
I recently read this about wood pigeons: "In Winter, the birds depend mainly on clover, turnip tops and young greens." This is my first 'season' shooting pigeons, so I haven't see a whole year's activity on the farm. But I thought clover was cut around this time of year, and that there would be none around in winter. Is there a second cut later in the year?

39TDS
Wherever you read that it was probably originally written a very long time ago. There are lots of other things that they choose to feed on in winter months these days.

WoodyPopper
Thanks all. I just found that this clover will be cut for silage in a couple of weeks time.
