hi chaps, a heads up on 3rd eye tacticals range of rimfire mods.

apparently i'm not supposed to bore out the "over the barrel bit" to fit my heavy barrelled hmr, (22mm sako) they've been notified and are making a new range that fit on the end of barrel, they're also sending me a couple of 1/2" unf end caps to partially get over the problem. I'm now putting epoxy resin in the fluted internals to block up the holes caused by drilling the bleeder out :mad:

works a treat tho, much better than a sak.

Hi im thinking of getting one for the rimfire what do you think about it. Is the sound reduction good and does it shift zero much.

Thanks ossett_hunter

it's bloody brilliant to be perfectly honest, the quality is exceptional, POI doesn't move,(not on mine anyway) and sound reduction is noticably better than the sak i had.

the new ones they're making fit on the end of the barrel now due to the number of guns with heavy barrels that the old type just didn't fit, the old ones can be bored out, even though they say not to, but i'd take it to no more than 20mm to be safe. Mine was taken to 23/24 mm (imperial equivalent?) and it was a shade too much. they make calibre specific mods for rimfire too.

it's down to personal choice, they're not cheap, and for subs in a 22lr there isn't any noticable difference between the 3rd eye or a sak, they're just better made. Not sure if anyone else has had the same problem but my sak mods cause the POI to move, one doesn't sit square on the shoulder either.
