  1. morning ladies and gents, I have a spare scope I bought back in January, fitted it to my air rifle but its too big for an under lever rifle hence the sale. c/w the box, registration docs, and the covers, in as new condition. bushnell banner 3-9x50 duplex reticle £120 buys it, prefer f2f so you can see what you're getting, but will post if necessary best regards gram
  2. Hi ladies and gents, I've got a spare telly, it's a 42"LG in good condition, c/w a wall mounting bracket and the original stand, £80ovno Located in Norwich Norfolk
  3. hi gent's, thanks for the info, I kind of understood most of it. I was advised against rivaoxiban by my inr nurse as she said if I cut myself badly they wouldn't be able to dose me with a coagulant so I remain on warfarin still. the auto immune response is interesting too, Kawasaki's disease was mentioned, a form of vasculitis brought on by the immune system going a little haywire? does that sound right? I had similar symptoms quite a few years ago, was diagnosed with wegners granularmatosis? (forgive the spelling, spell checker doesn't like medical terms) only after a lot of the wrong treatment and a fastly deteriorating heart and kidney function did they realise it was actually a bacterial infection that took hold in my aorta. a quick trip to papworth saved me in the nick of time. this made me think though, back in late January/early feb I had a stinker of a cough with a fever, I also noticed blood in my pee, saw my GP and had blood tests which confirmed it. my last blood and urine tests show nearly normal levels, but still got protein in the piddle though. my GP doesn't seem very concerned, but the surgery in general aren't the best at dealing with things like this.
  4. haven't seen a rabbit on my dad's field in over two year, horses on there now. not sure but I think the farmer who owns the neighbouring fields is gassing them
  5. hi ladies and gents, this is probably of no use to many on here but I have a paddock stand for a vfr 750 rc36, single sided swing arm version, it might fit other models, the pin is interchangeable for different diameter spindles. If it's of any use to anyone it's free to take away before I take it to the dump. cheers Paddy
  6. Hi ladies and gents, during the lock down I've been busy in the man cave and I now have some fairly heavy duty metal racking going spare, dimensions of the shelves are 1200mm x 300mm, there's 8 in total, with 3 connecting uprights giving an overall dimension of H 1800mm x W 2400 x D300. it's a little rough and ready but it's free and perfectly useable, bolts included. cheers, Paddy
  7. shame you're in sussex, I've got a nice piece of American black walnut big enough to get 2 stock blanks out of, that I never did anything with, only cost me £100
  8. you'd think, but the door staff don't seem clued up on it
  9. there are a 1001 different types of upvc door hinge out there, if it latches ok and sits in the frame ok then leave the hinges alone, check the latch keeps is my advice, they're usually the culprit. check alignment, then check depth adjustment
  10. is it a vw engine? it happened o my caddy, it turned out to be an injector
  11. Hi gents, not sure how many of you are aware of this but I saw on the news a few days ago that these nhs logo lanyards have been on sale on the likes of ebay, people are using them to jump the queues in supermarkets and the like. my wife works in the nhs and has caught a few people out while getting the shopping. if anyone else sees this going on you might want to ask to see the id badge that should be attatched to one end of said lanyard.
  12. that's lush mate, I've got a hankering for something like this, now my old vf is up and running I don't need the ktm 1090, it's a tad too big and heavy for me to go off roading on
  13. well, I did it, and it looks pretty good in my opinion, I've got to ask though, why put the blade in the oven? I've got some thick cut proof gloves which helped a lot
  14. no it isn't, , it's proven that the structure of white asbestos is different to that of brown or blue asbestos, also, the roofing sheets are outside, so he won't be in a confined space with any potential particles, therefore he won't be breathing any of the stuff in.
  15. certainly does, it was a file in its former life, so high carbon steel. nice little tanto
  16. hi chap, firstly, don't panic. the stuff is outside so you won't be getting a dose of the harmful dust. also, the type of asbestos used in that stuff is crysotile, or white asbestos, and isn't as harmful as the other types, it's also in a very low concentration and bonded with cement, so even less of a risk also, to get rid of this stuff you need to speak to a skip company, they can supply a skip specifically designed to handle this. also, if you want to " double bag" this you do it by wrapping heavy gauge visqueen polythene and taping it up with duct tape, twice, hence the term double bagging. if the stuff has weathered badly and has become friable (flaky) and you want to spray it with something then use either a concrete dustproofer (available at a good builders merchant) or use watered down pva, let it set then handle it, it will seal and bond any loose fibres in place.
  17. I've blued the blade, not 100% sure I like it, the gun blue gel was over 10 years old and had gone semi hard, I've diluted it down but it's gone a little patchy. to all extents and purposes it's pretty much done, but I might just get the blade vapour blasted instead, I don't like shiny blades.
  18. took a grinder to it to get a rough shape, then mounted a belt sander to the bench to flatten off. then wet and dry to get a finer finish and an edge, it was getting fairly sharp by the time I got down to 800 grit. found some zebrano left overs in the shed while I was tidying it all up, also found a bronze sundial plate behind the shed basically got it to this today, the tang and handle are bonded with resin as I didn't have any rod of any description to make pins, they can come later though
  19. evening ladies and gents, after everyone else has been making some rather lovely knives and stuff I thought i'd have a go with a few bits and pieces laying around. I have this old kindling chopper, made from what I thought was a leaf spring, it turned out it was originally an old file and was rather hard to machine. Anyhoo, here goes... this is the chopper in question, looking a bit sorry for itself
  20. that looks good chap, I think i'm going to jump on this bandwagon and have a go myself, I've got a bit of leaf spring lying in the shed waiting for me to either throw it or make something with it
  21. i'd go with the laser answer, we didn't have red goggles when I worked in a foundry, we need clear vision, red would just impair it.
