What rifle can I get, without FAC?

FAC relates to power, not calibre. As long as the air rifle is less than 12ftlbs muzzle power you don't need a FAC. Realistically this means it'll commonly be .177 or .22, and uncommonly .20 or .25

BSA meteors are usually around 9-10 ftlbs I believe.

Just thinking out loud (I know absolutely sweet FA about rifles) what rifle can I use without a FAC? calibre etc??

For what though? you can use FAC rated centrefires and rimfires at a club were you are a member, but you cannot own them. if you fancy having a go at rifles this is a good start. if you just want to kill an odd small pest or have a little fun shooting targets and miscalanious objects on your land then a sub 12ft lb air rifle

Check out Local Air Gun Club and see what is around and why others are using them

Much safer -

Get many New Shooters @ my Club - Lea Valley in Hertford

Many have not used Air Guns for years and can not believe what can be done with unlicensed air Gun's these day's

Most Air Gun clubs do not Allow Fire Arms - higher power Air Gun's on their Ranges
