  1. In the States Yes - As they can still Shoot Air Guns in City Limits But not powder burners BOB/R
  2. UK Manfactures requested Sub 12FP when overseas Air Guns was killing UK Market Place If you have a Legal need for a FAC Air Gun you can apply for a License if you have approved Land to shoot on Re Scottish proposal for Air Gun Licensing - Will be very interesting if it ever happens First fall will be lack of Funds or Staff to enforce it And as proved with UK Putting TAC Guns on Ticket - Even uder a Fixed Five year Jail Terms - The Majority was Never Registered Also aware that No one ever got the five Years when caught with a unlicensed Air Gun There have been many requests to up Sub 12FP Limit - Standard reply is that you can and in most cases get a FAC License for a Higher powered Air Gun BOB/R
  3. Check out your Local Air Gun Clubs - most have a For Sale Table Chance to pick up a Bargin and try it out before parting with Funds - BOB/R
  4. Check out Local Air Gun Club - most have a For Sale Table - Ideal for moving on Air Guns Far better prices than a dealer and you are aware who is looking after your previous Baby BOB/R
  5. Give Brococks a Call and Ask to Speak to - Paul Bird the man that Designed and Builds them 01527527800 - Mornings is best BOB/R
  6. Most Air Gun Magazines have online Magazines - also includes Gun write up's But Forum Board reviews are far better - SMK are mass produced copies of other makes - You get what you pay for - Check out Local Air Gun Clubs - as most have a For Sale Table - where shooters often move on their First Air Gun BOB/R
  7. Most Clubs use Skans - also so do the Trade - Manufactures As did the Police when they did Tests BOB/R
  8. If you have a Air Gun Head - it's Every Five years - As can not be used in Water Where a Din is every 2 Years It is financially better to buy a Air Gun Head or have one fitted - Especially when a Steel Air bottle can outlive it's owner - Does seem unfair to Air Gunners as most keep Air in them @ All times - trouble with Divers is they often run low and moisture get's into tank Resulting in Rust & Tanks Blowing up - Reason Why Tests are required - My Dive Shop have several bottles that failed - Divers and show them as examples - Gives me even more respect for 300 Bar preassure BOB/R
  9. Bottle Testing Depends if done in House or sent Off Like Diving / Fill Shops there are less and less Test Centres each year Most Places I have visited have Charges in Large Letters near Pumps - Your Fault if No asking before Bottle Filled - BOB/R
  10. BFTO @ Bisley is a Air Gun Club - Open Seven day's a week to Members - Has Open day's for visitors There are several other Air Gun Clubs in area - google as sure they have web sites BOB/R
  11. I have Shot Rat's with .177 / .22 / .25 and a well placed round has hit brain box it it rolled over - I have also knocked off limbs as moved And continued moving - My normal .177 Round in Phoenix Mark Two - is a Lead Exterminator 9.50 grain domed Head - with Rapid Fire Capablities I can get more than one shot in them But with today's larger ones a .21 Grain Piledriver - small hole entry and large as it leaves - not moving Piledrivers design is to deliver a larger lump of Lead @ Target - with real impact that No Air Gun Vermin can take Not a Fancy Design but was made for Vermin that a lighter .177 pellet would not deliver a killer punch - and larger calibres not allowed As Stated Made for the World Market Place not just UK Shooters - who have a Choice of any Calibre - in Sub 12FP rifles of FAC Rated Rifles BOB/R
  12. Piledrivers was orginally made for Countries not allowed .22 Air Guns - where wanting the down range weight to stop vermin They do work well in sub 12FP - but get the right head size - aware many use them for rat's and birds where normal pellets do not enter Bird BOB/R
  13. Central Government cut Police Budgets which included Fire Arms Teams Hopping to deter Shooters into getting any Gun licensed Which is not working as more UK Residents apply for Licensed Guns Be it Shot Gun's for Clay Shooting Fire Arms for Target / Larger Control shooting Or FAC Rated Air Guns I recently had issues and delays with TAC License as Met Police took even longer to process my renewal form Aware of many others especially in Essex that are having major Issues - As more Forces join teams and cut Staff to save Budget funds If applying or Renewing in Essex - allow as long as possible as understand they are well behind - BOB/R
  14. It's a suppliers Market Place - I am sure no one is making a Killing on Filling diving bottles My Local Dive Shop has a £10,000 second hand compressor and Storeage bottles and Charges £10.00 to Fill any 300 Bar bottle Always moaning how much it costs to run - with staff - Always busy as there is no other place for many miles around If it was profitable more Shops would install them - I only get my 12. Litres Filled - even @ £10.00 still pennies a shot - BOB/R
  15. Issue with Dive Air is that it's not a fixed Science - depends on shots fired and weather About above is a good gauge - BOB/R
  16. Well aware of Simon from his many years @ webley - UK and aware He has a good stock of spares BOB/R
  17. Thought - always have bottle - laying with Gauge across the back - So if you was hit from the Rear it will not come through and get passengers & Driver Many make up a wooden frame to stop possible movement in vehicle and protect gauge and pipe - Have a couple in my Van - via Side door - As carry a Club Bottle as well - I have seen a 12 Litre 300 Bar bottle go down the range - when knocked over - knocking off gauge - Scrared many of Range and got Shooters to secure them - against falling over - BOB/R
  18. In Most Cases it's not a viable project Most will sell and buy another gun - BOB/R
  19. Most UK Clubs have limited Access - Only a limited amount of Range Space A Lot depends on days of Access - But most these days have Web sites and even Facebook pages - advising users of Club Activities There is restriction if Fire Arms are Shot on Ranges - about shooters turning up without approval Down to Range restrictions - Most Clubs have Committee who will reply to emails or phone calls - BOB/R
  20. Joy of Being a Club Shooter - that in time Members seem to buy and try most available Scopes As stated before it's down to owners not forgetting that - what ever make - they cost around a 1/4 of what they sell for in UK Most of mine are Top of Range Walthers - as got them @ trade price and work for me BOB/R
  21. Clubshot

    Rats

Issue with Shooting Rat's around Domestic Properties is that their - Rat Fluid is dangerous to Man & Domestic Animals On request I use Baited Cages - Which I empty into a Small Drum - For Killing and removing BOB/R
  22. There are Several Versions - Longer ones are Best - Fair better than Drilling wooden Stock - BOB/R
  23. My Club Members have most of the Vermin control in my area - As Club contact I have often been asked for a suitable Shooter to look after Air Gun Controled Vermin Sure it's the case around the Country Issue with Company sites is Health and safety Issues - BOB/R
  24. As with All Legal Issues - Check www.basc.org.uk Who have a Active Fire Arms team that have discussed it with most Governement Departments And local fire Arms Officers - Personally - I do not carry loaded Magazines - Rifles or Pistols - As often Shoot IPAS & PP with Fire Arms Officers From different Police forces - Who all say that they would make it a issue if found on a Public Place with a Loaded Magazine - BOB/R
  25. Big issue with Shooting anything is a Clean Kill - Most Sub 6FP Pistols are not suitable for Killing unless close up / like in a capture cage Remember the TV programes of Local Authorities Trying to Shoot Rat's in bins with Pistols I use a .25 BSA Rifle for Cage Killing - Aware that We use Lolly's on Sticks as Target @ my Club - aware that they are wet so that When broken fly's will be attracted Aware that most are Horse fly's - BOB/R
