yickdaz Posted May 19, 2011 Report Share Posted May 19, 2011 me and the old fella had a few decent days on the spring rape on a friends permission, he lets us shoot in the week with him working. 3 separate rape fields all at different stages of growth, 1 field is hip high, another 4ins tall, last one just poking through. we shot 32 and 2 ferals picked 26 last week from the same hide. bit better today with 52 picked and 6 lost. we started off in 1 hide on the tallest rape but the birds didn,t play ball, but birds moving down the far end and going in the weedy bare patches round 1 side of it, so had a look at the other fields spotted a flightline going over a small wood i decided to shoot on the flightline, he went back to the first field where birds were going down on the bare patches. it worked out well, i only made 20 and a feral with 3 lost but brilliant sport and some cracking birds brought down.. he made 32 with 3 lost over decoys so succesfull day in the end for both Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
