In a bit of a debate with a know it all I am told that My Airguns are Illegal because I do not

have a gun licence (AN FAC AND SGC DON'T COUNT APPARENTLY)

SO now a nice little wager is on

So which part of the various firearms act(s) allows 18+ British Civilian to own a sub 12 ft lb

air rifle and sub 6 ft lb air pistol.

I'll need the acts year and section to prove this person wrong.

thanks in advance.

The Firearms Act 1968 as amended;

Section 1 (3) specifically excludes such low power air guns from its scope. Therefore they are not controlled weapons.

There is no "gun licence" beyond section 1,2 and 5 firearms certificates. They are not subject to adult ownership restriction but don't expect a law stating the right to have them either.
