roadkill
Right i have picked up the cocker and am really happy with her very friendly and so far seems very relaxed . my first aim is to get a good bond between me and the dog before i start any kind of training . Any tips on how to go about this? I took her for a walk with my other dog and let her run free even though she was very reluctant to leave me but once i encouraged her to join the other dog she seemed to have fun exploring but what i don't want to do is ruin any future training by giving her to much free run . Now looking a head into the future what would be the basic lessons i would need to teach and in what order ? Just so you have an idea she already sits to the whistle comes back to the whistle and walks at heel.
Tom&Dexter
lots of praise affection along with the bond of feeding. be careful at letting her free run to much as you want her to bond to you and not your other dogs ? What you going to be using her for ? If she wer mine I would be working on recall and basic retrieves basically as you would if she was a pup lots of fun and praise. Then after a couple of weeks being she is 12 month I would find a good local trainer to ***** the dog and yourself and take it from there best of luck and get some pics up

Benellimelody
If you are talkin iof the initial bond i would be leaving retrieves and not doing too much hunting/ quartering, just normal walks, little and often. I dont like treating dogs but one good excercise with an older pup - Get her sat next to you, beneath you and when she makes eye contact give her a treat, Make her keep eye contact longer and longer if she is very quick at it.
