Hi all,

Not posted for a while,straight to point then, my 9yr old jtr fit as a flea, starts breathing heavy, coughing,etc, after a few days dont clear up,took him to vet examines him, turns out hes got fluid on lungs, plus a bad heart murmur!!!? the she vet sez,he gotta take heart tablets for rest of his life, first visit to vet 10mins £39,and 1 weeks supply of tabs "FORTEKOR" tabs, a week later another visit to check him over 10 mins £47.30 and more tabs.Dont get me wrong if he needs em he shall have em,hes raring to go and will battle anything!!! anyone know of a good on line pet medicine supplier to maybe keep cost down a bit? hppe all this makes sense.

Are there any which allow you to enter the "symptoms" and their online vet gives you the prescription? I know some online medical supply sites for people do this. Not sure how it's legal, but they seem to do it.

 

nope as then you could get whatever you wanted, if its long term medication its probably worth paying for a prescription but vets don't like doing it

Simple economics. Vets are businesses that make a damn site less money than most other professionals. If people want to buy their medicines elsewhere service costs will go up. In the end it will cost you more because you are supporting an extra business - the internet pharmacy.

 

Owning a pet is not a right, it's a privilege. If that seems a lot of money then you should have insurance.
