bsamatt
Hi all, Can someone tell me how i go about getting a centre fire rifle with a mentor?? I currently have .17hmr and .22LR on a closed ticket. I have a shooting mate who has a .223 on a open ticket. The land i shoot over is not suitable for any CF rifle, i only just managed to persuade him to clear it for the HMR. But the land i walk around with my mate is cleared for up to and including .223, So could someone correct me if im wrong, but can my mate be a mentor for me for a .223, and if the feo allows this does it mean i can shoot any where with it (where we have permission) with my mate, am i right in thinking this?? And i cant go down the route of getting the farmer to sign a permission slip and give to the police as i have to be with my mate when shooting over the land anyway. thanks in advance Matt
Colster
You still you need your own permission, you might have a mentor condition AS WELL but you still need land. Some forces might grant it on the condition that you are paying for stalking but might be a hard sell on a small centrefire.

Dekers
ahh ok, i did wonder. Cheers for the fast reply anyway mate Pretty much as Colster has it...you need a reason for ANY rifle, and the fact your mate has some land is not usually good enough for you. You can sometimes swing things on paid shoots. Find your own appropriate land and away you go!
