plexer
When not shooting in tall crops what do you reckon the best height to have a magnet is, the higher the better or the lower? Ben
Cranfield
Over low crops, I set my magnet with one arm parallel to the ground and the other about 6-8 inches higher. Don't ask me why, I think I read somewhere that it was a good idea and it works for me.
M ROBSON
One parallel to the ground and the other about a foot higher, similar to Cranfield. this allows both birds to be seen from a distance as they cross over instead of one bird blanking out the other, it gives you miximum visual movement from your rotor. Cheers, Mark.
plexer
Ok thats good guys thanks but what height is the main shaft on your magnet i.e how far from the ground to your arms? Thanks, Ben
Cranfield
My rotary is 30 inches from the ground, allow say, up to 6 inches sticking in the ground and that makes the arms about 24 inches above the ground, when parallel. plexer, I have just been to the garage and measured my rotary, that has to be worth a glass of elderflower cordial, if we ever meet. plexer
Cranfield: Indeed it does many thanks for that, mine is about 36inches high and also has another 10 1/2 inches of adjustment to it so I was wondering wether to cut any off the bottom or not. Not actually tried it in the field yet I'm modifying it Ben
