kyska
Hi All, Quick Q, we have a large rape field that has been passed over for a couple of seasons, its now in full bloom. Being so big we're thinking about a straw bale hide, in the middle of the field as well as using the edges. Now, this field in particular has more than usual amount of power lines running over it, not the high voltage pylons, the 'normal' ones. They kind of run straight through the middle, so a hide in the middle of the field will have these lines within the sight of the shooter. How careful, it at all, do we need to be shooting towards them with shotguns? Or should it be avoided at all costs? Kyska

cant hit rabbits 123
My dad was a linesman with the electrsity board for many years. He has seen what a shotgun shell will do to power lines, and its rather serious. Avoid shooting at them if you can.

Mr mac
you would not believe the hassle and cost implications of shutting down a line to change a silly insulator!
cant hit rabbits 123
From my dad 'Back then, if it would cause too much disruption, we would change them live.' But now they can't do that, and it is rather alot of hastle. And yes magman, even at the little glass plates, at the very top, with an airrifle, no matter how fun it may be
