sako751sg
Up and out for 3.30 this morning with clear blue skies and a decent temp.Does absolutely everywhere and with the crops high and the weeds higher they are venturing way out from their usual safe places.Very surprised to see 2 pairs running rings as early as this.Ive seen early ruts which have been put down to false ruts but both these bucks were mature and really running the does hard so its looking like its started up here. wildfowler.250
I thought 'we',(N/E Scotland) were nearer into August before the rut normally started? Did hear the odd buck barking while I was out few weeks ago. Just assumed they were either having a false rut or something had disturbed them

M ROBSON
I did see a buck and doe chasing last week, the buck was mature but they were only at it for a couple of minutes. A friend at the game fair said he was out walking the dog last week and saw a nice buck, Gave a squeek with his lips and the buck came running right over to him, then stood looking at him from a banking just 5 meters above. Cheers, Mark.

sako751sg
Since that morning i havent seen any more action that would be regarded as definate rutting, although i watched a buck come legging it out of a wood and run 400 yards to be with this doe that was down wind of him. They went out of sight so i didnt see what they were doing.A bit of chasing going on but the does are not interested yet. Also, every time i have noticed very early rutting it has been on cut parks of silage.Twice i have known for a fact that the kids have been wiped out,and im thinking that because of this the does possibly come into season early.
