shooters
Hi to all. I joined the world of shooting in January this year and have struggled to get permission. I have sent 30+ letters out and made nearly 100 (just guessing) calls, and all I have is 1 very small permission. I live in London so its a long drive to the nearest farms to visit personally. I am asking on this forum as I assume most people would shoot pigeons and not bother with rabbits (I could be very wrong, but I only shoot rabbits). So if this is the case and you have permission you would like to kindly share for a shoot or two or hopefully longer I would be extremely grateful. Dahonis
Hi, You will find that most farmers will not respond to letters or random telephone calls. ( I don't anyway ) If people come knocking on my door they stand a better chance of 20 mins of my time and then I give them a good grilling. Its like someone ringing you up and saying can I walk around your garden whenever I want. I have three lads who travel a 65 mile round trip to one of my area's. I really hope someone will take you out though
remmy1100
as stated most farmers like to see the person that want the permission, but i have gained two permissions through phone calls as i shot for other local farms.but to make things harder your from a densley populated area which must have thousands of shooters within all wanting permission or holding it and aslong as there doing a good job there little chance of farmer needing or wanting someone else.on other hand areas which are without major town or citys nearby will have less people if any wanting to shoot.everyone likes to shoot on there own doorstep so to speak.you are much more likely to get someone also to take you shooting on there land if you have land to return favour. its a vicious circle. atb with your search

Tin Man Work
Bit of a long shot but you could ask in any rural pubs in the area you want to shoot in, saying that you'd give the pub any rabbits you bagged if you had a permission in the area. If they want the rabbits for their menu (our pub does) then he's sure to know a farmer or two locally. Acts as a sort of indirect introduction I guess. Cheers
