Paul T
Evening Chaps I was clearing the pots in the kitchen last night (my token towards housework ) when my vizsla appeared at my side with something in his mouth. I bent down and told him to 'leave' and he dropped a very much alive chick into my palm . He'd obviously found it in the garden and aside from a few obvious peck marks it was perfect . Gut feeling was a young pigeon, but when I showed the pic to a birdwatcher mate at work today he commented that it was massive for such a youngster, and in hindsight I have to agree as it was very heavy. It had a round bill, not flat, so I think that rules out ducks and geese but I've never seen a pigeon this young so I'm not sure. It still had it's egg tooth and overall was the roughly the size of a standard computer mouse (I've got big hands). My young chickens are tiny by comparison . So, what do you guys think? Am I likely to be plagued by ostriches and could I issue permits out to the recent big game, trophy hunting trolls :yp: . Whatever it was the cat enjoyed it
