Fledgling Song Bird

My daughter found this little beauty outside my house last night, in the gutter. It was just sitting there. I took it into my house and checked it over. No damage to it, just a little bit too young to fully fly.

I looked around to see if it's parents were nearby on the roof etc, but nothing. It was chirping away, and after some searching on the internet, and contacting a rescue centre in Cardiff, it was agreed that I take the bird down to them this morning. I was told to try and get it to feed on mashed up catfood, mixed with water. After asking a few of my neighbours, I managed to get some cat food for it. But, no matter how hard we tried, it would not take anything at all.

I placed the bird in a box, with an bit of old towel to keep it warm, and hoped that it would be okay this morning. I checked it at 05.30, but sadly it had died. I feel really gutted about it all, but at least it was'nt caught and mauled to death by a cat, which we have many of around my area.
