southeastpete
Hi, im looking at a budget pcp. Ive been told that webley is no longer, been bought by someone else. and that now the same people make hatsans as webleys. I was looking at a webley raider, but it is now proving difficult to get one at the quoted prices of £300. I have been offered a hatsan at44x-10 for £300, but then i have to put an extra £60 on for a cheap scope and moderator. So for £360, is a hatsan at44x worth it? as per, online i have read good and bad reviews, i would love to hear from anyone on here who has had any experience with them? many thanks, pete
Polish
For £360 either go for a decent second hand rifle or buy a very good spring rifle.
blasterjudd
Go Hatsan, had 1 over a year now and 2 friends have them no problem at all, so for £360 you have a good quality powerful bunny or woodie basher, you won't get anything better secondhand and you have a new gun from day 1! You won't be disappointed. Mine chronos at 11.8 ft lbs and shoots as well as my friends Daystate & Weihrauch hw100 Make sure you get a Webley QGS or Hatsan Silencer otherwise you may find pellets clipping that's the only minor problem with them, apparently it's the way they finish the thread on the barrel with a seal. Let me now what you choose, good luck. Cheers Steve
secretagentmole
Hatsan, have a Hatsan, trust me, Edgar Brothers are good to deal with (thought I had a problem with the filler probe, they sent new o rings, turned out to be a pump problem, they said it could be either but would send the o rings down just in case). The gun is reliable, dead easy to use, cannot be double loaded, accurate and quiet. Just a great gun to own, but it, keep it, enjoy it, prices on these guns are starting to rise! weldersunited
Hi Pete, I'm going to say completely the opposite- don't touch it! I had one and have had nothing but grief with it- it came to me low on power, which was increased, then it would not group (i'm talking 3"+ groups @ 20mtrs, the barrel kept rotating in the block, shutting off the air supply and causing the power to vary, one of the cylinders was faulty and leaked.... The gun was returned twice for repaurs that didn't work. Maybe i just had a friday afternoon one but certainly lost all confidence in the unit after that and have swapped it for another make. Shame really, considering the good reviews others have given them. Maybe it's just luck of the draw? ATB
secretagentmole
Could be, but there again I have had bad experience with Air Arms, other peoples bet noire are Daystates, some people are so anti Theoben it is unbelievable, some people will not touch BSAs. I have had a Hatsan springer and PCP and found the quality on both to be exceptional, in fact more like rifles costing 3 times as much!
