Gun fitting right now

Went out with Joe (Black Gun) and his friend Mike Gammon a few weeks back to Sporting Targets and after just half a dozen shots Mike said he thought my Benelli semi auto seemed a little short for me as I was shooting a little high. After some more shooting he was certain my gun needed 3/8" added to the stock to bring my aim slightly lower.

I took his advice and after searching the net and loads of phone calls I still couldn't find an insert to go between the stock and the plastic butt plate. My good friend Denny Essex stepped in and suggested he bond two pieces of black plastic to get the 3/8" I need.

Got the spacer in the post yesterday and wasted no time, and after some heating to make the spacer take the curve of the stock, drilling and sanding I fitted it on.

What a difference it makes to my gun mount  I've been shooting this gun for over a year and haven't been doing too bad with it. But dry mounting it at home I always needed to adjust myself slightly to get the gun pointing where I wanted, Mike also noticed and commented on my fidgeting about when I was shouldering the gun getting ready for a clay; Now the gun comes up perfect every time. Really pleased and can't wait to try it out on the pigeons, bad news is I'm off on holiday for 16 days on Monday so have to wait till I get back :/

Thanks to Mike, Joe and Denny :good: :good:
