Cocker's first trip out.

I took my 12 month old cocker out yesterday morning for the first time and she did really well.

It's a 250 acre mixed farm and we were out for 2 hours, she walked to heal the whole way except for the first 2 mins when she ran into a rape field before I could stop her.

The only problems came when she ran in to retrieve too early (twice) when I'd shot one and there were others in range, and once when I missed on the first shot but she again ran in but ended up chasing the bunny. She came back when called and with her tail between her legs.

We only came back with 4 rabbits but I was still pleased and it was a perfect morning.

I just need to work on her steadyness before going out again.

Great to hear mate. Has the dog got a nice drive yet?
