I beat on a shoot last year but it has closed due to land being sold off. I have a springer that didnt want to be redundant at only 5 so any work for us would be appreciated. partridge60 Posted August 14, 2011 Report Share Posted August 14, 2011 darren many keepers are busy with birds now so least likely to respond. keep posting though you never know, many shoots sre limiting the beaters a keeper can use as the total pay is limited on some of the shoots i attend. scimitar Posted August 14, 2011 Report Share Posted August 14, 2011 I've beaten on an estate for years and the keeper only contacts his beaters mid September, and if any of the previous seasons beaters are dropping out it's then he looks for new ones.
