BenBhoy
just got back from afternoon out. wasn't quite what i expected and not the best bag ever but felt sooo good to be back out after a few months with no shooting. got there and the stubble had already been disced back in, but wasn't too concerned as there was pigeon everywhere. not shot these fields before so stopped in car for bit to see where they coming in from and how long before they come back when spooked. then set up deeks and found great spot for my hide although it did mean having to sit in a ditch, but was ok just lowerd the net. things started quiet but after about 20 mins had first shot and first bird down, good start. this one went on my new angel lander and it looked the dogs nadgers. but thats where things began to go wrong.... loads of birds came in, and i really think the angel did it, only trouble is something is wrong with my gun. it has a useless plank pulling the trigger. missed some i really really should have hit even by my low standards. but then the ones i did hit were really fast coming head on shots, harder than ones i missed, how that?? anyway i blame it on being rusty, me not the gun!! going back one afternoon next week so fingers crossed for better. so end of day 4 birds in the bag for a silly amount of shots. but im smiling!!! BenBhoy
cheers guys. yeah was good to get on some new land, exciting watching the different flightlines, possible places to set up next time etc. and one of the best parts was i can pretty much drive right to where i wanna shoot, in the past always had a good walk with all me kit. used the video off this forum to crown the birds last night, was really simple, and now they in deep freeze. Kobi, i'd not seen it when it was standing crop but i can only presume it was rape as all the other areas of farm were rape or wheat and he not cut the wheat yet.
