wattsowatts
Due to go out on wheat stubble this afternoon, but it is ******* down, yesterday the field was covered in pigeons and black things, lets hope they will still be there this afternoon? wattsowatts
Arrived on the OSR stubble instead of the wheat, to find it covered in pigeons, watched for a while to see where the best place to set up would be. Place chosen, hide set up, 4 pigeon within 15 minutes. Put these out on the floaters instead of the plastic decoys; thought I was going to be in for a good day. Well it did not happen, those first few shots seemed to have put all the birds off. The next three hours proved to be a struggle, trying different patterns, rotary out then in, nothing seemed to draw the birds in like I had expected. Ended up with 26 birds, better than a boot up the bum, but had hoped for better. Can't wait until they start cutting the wheat.
