I was told in a gun shop on thursday that West mercia are now stopping Fox as a condition against HMR on renewal or variation ! :hmm: Has anyone had any experience of this or know anything about it ?

If there going to take fox off my HMR then I will be wanting a CF and most likely a .22 Hornet !

Cheers for your replys :good:

They are going to struggle to take it off at variation - given the licensing process says they must view the individual in their own context - because if Fred has been shooting foxes for 5 years without issue, then why is Fred suddenly unable to kill a fox safely and humanely the day after renewal?!

Laws and rules will always evolve - rightly or wrongly.

Just because someone has the fox condition for HMR now does not guarantee that it will be allowed when they renew.

Look what happened to semi-automatic centre fire, and pistols.

I accept that this is a little different, as the law changed, but it does highlight that nothing is fixed.

Time to get saving for the Centrefire - just in case.

You're rather missing the point. The law can be changed by parliament. The guidelines have not changed; the law has not changed. Therefore, any action is taken by the police alone. Funnily enough, they don't make the rules, they administer them, so they can and should be challenged.

People seem to forget that the police cannot simply do as they please...
