kent
Fired four 36 grm steel factory loads tonight testing Pattern with a different tighter choke than norm and two of the four shells fired the shot cups penetrated through slightly damp 1/2 plasterboard at 35 yds. They were pretty even in the spread were they landed, i wonder how many times we kill duck with a shot cup? . I know some dont belive it happens but trust me it does, seen it previous with 3 1/2" BB shells at shorter range but today i was on 2 3/4" 4's @ 35 yds- that suprised me ! If it will punch through plasterboard like that it should knock a duck out the sky. I can't say the shot was sticking in the cup as one produced the best pattern of the four shots fired. Blunderbust
Interesting, I have not observed this my self but then again I have not thought about it either. I will need to have a play and see what happens. Cheers.
motty
I patterned some of my home loads last week ( mostly 1 1/2 oz BB or T with sam1 wads)and found the wads dropped half way between me and the pattern plate. I'm pretty sure my wads behaved as they are supposed to, and yours didn't. Incidently, this morning i fired some of my first batch of home loads in anger, and killed three canadas. Great feeling.
