wymberley
******,I knew there was something I needed before parting with the FAC, in for variation; namely the Subject bullets. OK, phaedra 1106, relax; it's NOT the V Max. Guys, please, would anyone happen to know the length of this bullet. Cheers, Phil
njc110381
Just measured about 20 and they all fell between .625 and .630 - I couldn't do the average as I didn't have any paper to write each one down but there was a fairly even variation between them. If you want some to try then PM me.

COAL capability which I won't know until the rifle arrives, I may just take you up on your kind offer. Cheers, Phil
njc110381
I bought a box of the standard 45gr spitzers and they are far too long to go in a CZ mag. I'd quite happily send one your way for a dummy round if you'd like to try one and if it works I could forward on the rest of the box. They are no use to me. I think Speer use a softer core than Sierra, well worth noting if you're going for the heavier Hornet based bullets. I want to get some 40's so next time I do a states order I'll grab a couple of boxes of those. It's about time you settled on a bullet for this Hornet of yours isn't it? You've been looking at bullets for ages now!

Take your point been quite happy with 40gr Nosler for a while until another member said try these (Hornady 50gr SPSX) - he has a good point. Balls all in the air at the moment. Going to put the NV on the existing rifle and am trying to find a good rabbit round (it doesn't like 35 V Max at all). Will use the new one (which is 24 and 1 in 14 as opposed to the existing 18 and 1 in 16) for fox, with either the 50 SPSX or 40 Nosler.
