Non toxic - reload or not

Any views will be greatfully received

I have joind a syndicate where there are some driven duck which do fly really well (40 yards plus)a lot of them were at 50-60 yards

Shot it on saturday with Bismuth 32g 4s with /4 & full chocke and to be fair wasn't too impressed with the stopping power.

From past experince I know that RC JK6s 36g 4s would have stopped everything

The shoot owner said to use heavishot

Now what do I do:

Buy ready made shells

Bismuth - do I go to say 36g or 3s

Tungstem matrix - do I go to 26g of 3s or 4s

Heavishot - do I go to 32g 4s or 5

I have in the past reloaded 3" steel but my current game gun is on 2 3/4" chambers so I am a bit limited but it is teague choked.

I see that Clay & Game do a powershot which is meabnt to be better than lead but seems to be more expensive than buying the ready made Heavishot and probably the same cost as bismuth & tungsten

So what would you guys recommend or do as come Novemeber/ December the duck will be up even higher and what choke limitations do they have?

thanks

Edit to above post

Tungsten matrix should read as - do I go to 36g of 3s or4s

tungsten matrix, ITM is probly the most effective and safest shot.

i`ve never been a big fan of bismuth.

hevishot is way harder than steel and more agressive when in contact with the barrel. (it does happen).

as you have a 2,3/4" game gun, shooting the soft dense stuff makes sense. the cost is astronomical !

Many thanks for that I will have to see what my Woods of Swaffham and Thetfiords guns stock.

Probably only 32g 5s in ITM though.

Any further recomendations on chokes for ITM

thanks

I have just got hold of some 36g 6s in impact tungsten matrix that I will try for decoying ducks and ducks to 30-40 yds :good: I have been told they are a very good cartridge and have no issues with choke. I also use steel and have used bismuth to good affect (although they were home loads )
