marmitemania
I regularly see vast amounts of Corvids on a large OSR field on my permission, what I want to know is are they feeding on the rape? as I cant really see any damage or do you think they just like this field I cant find out any info if they eat rape, but I went onto the field as I was passing and bagged a huge Carrion Crow, now I wish I had opened it to see what it had been eating. If they are feeding on it I will get or make some Crow deeks and have some sport.
Cranfield
They are not eating the rape, but they are after insects and probably slugs. Once the rape starts to show, the Farmers are usually out on ATV's spreading slug pellets like crazy.
marmitemania
Yeah now you have said that there is slug pellets on the field, Im to dumb to put Two and Two together. Still I might see if any will decoy at the weekend as Im having no luck with the pigeons, and the crows wrecked two fields of beans earlier in the year, so time for some recompense I think.
