  1. The help and generocity from everybody on here has overwhelmed me. Thanks for all your kind words and offers you are a rare kind of people. As said once I have conntacted the keeper to see if I can get back on I will let you all know. Once again I am genuinely lost for words at the responce and kindness off you. THANKYOU.
  2. Thanks for all your replies chaps, as has been said there is some very noble people around and it restores your faith.
  3. That is a very kind gesture bigman. I,m on the Bed, Cambs, Northants border at Raunds and that is where the farm is. I will have to speak to the keeper and the farmer to see if I can get on the land. It was beaters day and I didn't do any beating just a couple of walk throughs so I could retrace my steps on every drive. Thankyou and will be in touch if I can sort something out if you are close enough, would furnish you with beer tokens and petrol money..
  4. Mark Maxus it was just like the knives you have posted just without the blood groove. I think they have gone up a little in price though.
  5. I know where you are coming from but I do not have ready access to the land and farmyard/yards where I lost it, it was a beaters day and the farmer is very private and was not seeing eye to eye with the keeper at the time. I am going to contact the keeper to see if there is any possibility I can have a look, I have already searched the gateways and any land that I can have access to. Gutted is not even close to how I feel.
  6. Does anybody know where I could get a new or secondhand Bowie knife from? I have tried fleabay and Amazon but I am looking for a certain knife. My mum and dad brought me a Sheffield Bowie knife which I think was J J Roberts it had "Bowie" with the makers name engraved on the blade and had a plain brass hilt with a rivited plain rosewood handle and the blade was around 8/9 inches in a Brown leather sheath. I know I lost it on my last shoot as it was in my leg pocket but I think it must have come out when climbing over a fence or getting in or out of the car. The reason I want one the same is because it had a lot of sentimental value as it was brand new from mum and Dad and I had it at 12 years old so have I have had it 25 years, one the same or very near would make the loss a little easier to swallow. Please help. Thanks in advance. Just an aside note I don't want a foreign made knife. Just had a rethink and I think it was J Nowill and son.....

This could have been so different if he had not shot at the van, we would be reading about the chaps mum being mown down in a robbery, maybe the wishy washy limp left minority want this, its about time things changed in this country and people face the consequences of their actions, if he had been shot it would have ben a hazard of his occupation. String all this scum up I say.
  8. mmmm.... Let me have a think about the answer to this one (whilst looking at my profile)..... It forms an intrinsic part of my life I eat it every day, so yes I love the stuff but cant eat any of the generic supermarket stuff, can spot it a mile off in a sandwich.
  9. He also apparently said to the policeman that he should know his place. I think this just shows his contempt and disdain for anyone who is not a overpaid out of touch chinless wonder like himself. I think he should know his place and realise that it is working for us in our best intrest but sadly they are out for themselves only. To partially quote Monty Python. "BURN HIM HE'S A WITCH"

I have to agree with the other posters if they catch the person who did this they to should be set on fire. I am a real beliver in an eye for an eye. You would just have to do it in a way so their death was protracted and painful.
  11. It will be great I promise you. Im glad people are buying British made cars instead of going with the PERSIVED german quality which in my opnion (and I worked indirectly for VAG for nearly 4 years) is simply not all its cracked up to be.
  12. One of the directors at the company I work for has a 2.7 Diesel XF its a fantastic car and has been exemplary in all aspects unlike the same priced and same aged Audi A6 3.0 tdi the other boss has, gerry built rubbish. Both cars were brought from new and really could not be more different you dont even notice the Audi as from the front it just looks like any other Audi but the Jag really has road precence.
  13. Post up a picture or the serial number and someone may be able to help. I have a BSA Meteor and they are great little guns.
  14. Do not take any risks with batteries I have seen one explode in someones face and it was not very nice, luckily there was an emegency eye wash very close to wash down the face and eyes. If they are bulging they sound like they have been overcharged and have probably boiled themselves dry. Put them back in the bin.
  15. I Made mine and it didn't cost a single penny, one sheet of steel cut to about 6" square bolt an old wiper motor to said plate, weld a lenght of RE bar to each corner and bent it down' next I welded a nut to the end of a good lenght of RE bar and on the other end I welded a lenght of flat springy steel with again a very small lenght of RE bar on each end to mount a decoy to. the nut just screws onto the wiper motor spindle, a lenght of wire runs from the motor to a twelve volt car battery which was also free but is very heavy, has worked faultlessly (and draws the pigeons in) in the year since I made it and is very stable as the bars on each corner easily push deep into the soil. It also has two speeds although I have to select the speed at the motor itself. I should mention I work in a plant and van workshop for a construction company and thats how with permission I was able to obtain all the materials for free.
  16. We are already spied upon in virtualy every move we make, Britain has the highest density of CCTV cameras in Europe, every electronic transaction gives us away, as for mobile phones if they really want to know exactly where you are they can tell from your phone because they virtually all have gps now. What really riles me about the government is they are employed by us, they actually work for us and we pay their wages but they never ever consult us about anything. How does that work? when they used taxpayers money to bail the banks out and the banks returned to profit and started paying themselves obscene bonuses where was our intrest in fact did they even pay back any of the money we lent to them? The Government is just riding roughshot over us all the time and I see this as a big ramp up of their incesant opression. This is just my opnion but I dont think Im wide of the mark, the government be they Conservative, Labour, Liberal they are just mouthpieces for the faceless Whitehall Madrins who are the real leaders of the country. I have read 1984 and I have said for years we are inching ever closer to his dysotopian world. Never mind if we dont conform we will just disappear in the night.
  17. Turbo they are politicians the shady and less than honest goings on are a part of their everyday jobs, they should be on the vermin ticket.
  18. Picture this scenario. Dave we seem to be a bit light on cash to pay our Euro subs, how can we generate £30/40 million in a couple of days? "Leave it to me I will will get one of my little minions to sort it out" Francis can I just have a quite word with you about a POSSIBLE tanker driver strike?
  19. The plate was issued in Exeter in the 1990's
  20. This has happened to me two or three times recently, the ******* are landing in the field instead of coming to the deeks, is there any way apart from bangers to stop this? Or is it just poor or complete lack of fieldcraft, its happening on Rape.
  21. Point taken but I have brought it now. I live in a very small village and dont go anywhere anyway so hopefully wont have any flack, unless I come across so hardcore antis, where I go shooting my motors usually of the road and the only people I ever see have never been any probs.
  22. I could not be any further from a Gangsta innit. The RR does not have huge chromme wheels or limo tint thanks.
  23. Has anyone ever had or has a Gun number plate on their car? Has it ever caused you any issues? I have just purchased one for my Rangie as I have recently parted company with my wife and need to buy a few things to try and get some credit history. I got the plate as I think it will hold it value to some degree and may go up if shooting becomes more popular. The downside to the plate (its the only one I could get for my age of car 1999 at sensible money)is the numbers are 666, am I looking for trouble or do you think it probably wont get noticed? I have no probs with the numbers as they are just numbers to me and I dont belive in any of that ****.
  24. A Very handsome car Doc, the 2.2 Transit engine that is in them now is very reliable and quite pokey. I wish I could afford it, but I love my old 1999 Rangie, she has all the toys a man could need.
