These are made from modern tent poles from a camping shop today

The long one's are 2ft and the short ones 11".

The long one's are ideal if sat waitng for a Fox/Deer, while the shorter one's are for prone shooting.

Total cost £8.99 and i have another five lenght's of pole for more sticks if needed

The idea came from stoney point steady stix, but they are about £30 a set :) While mine were about £1.50 a set :):P :o

Look pretty good to me, cant grumble at the price...well im sure markbivvy will  What have you used to join them looks like bungee or something.

I suspect Highlander would moan about the cost also despite being a rich jock ***

its always the simple ideas that prove the best, nice one kip, any chance of a new broom stick for the mother in law, hers will no longer hold her weight in flight ;):P

Kip the poles look like they would do a job of a frame I need in the wildfowling canoe, where did you get them plz

Hi Pavman, got them from Millets, they cost £5.99 for a pack and come in different thickness, these are the thinner ones.

Good stuff there Kip.

Can you get them long enough for standing ?

Browning, maybe the thicker ones would be better for longer sticks, as the thinner ones have a bit of give in them when in three sections.

Hope this helps

I bought some camping rubber bands as well as the sticks. I used one on the longer one, but the short one i used the elastic bands that came with the sticks to join them for the original use of tent poles
