Hello as a newcomer to the pigeon shooting world i have managed to get myself a shotgun and odd pieces of kit decoys, floaters, flapper etc but as i am a welder/fabricator by trade i would like to make myself a pigeon magnet.I would very much appreciate it if any one on this site who has the origional pigeon magnet would help me out with measurements steel size etc.As i have all my own welding gear it shouldnt be a problem.I have experienced difficulty and still am of obtaining spring steel for the arms.Any feedback to this would be very much appreciated.

                                  Regards sean.

Hi Sean,i've just finished making one (almost) myself and like you didnt have anything to go off other than a few pics in magizines.I sort of made it up a bit as i went along,i was unable to find any sprung steel for the arms either so ended up using 5mm (ish) steel rods, dont know if these are going to be any good but they were cheap so hopefully they will do until somthing else turns up.I've decided that this weekend will definatly be the big unveiling so if i dont have a heart attack carrying  it i'll let you know how i get on.

sean, best of luck with your project.

Its probably against some patent laws for anyone to give you dimensions over the Internet of their rotary devices, be it a  Magnet or some other.

What you need is a mate with one, you can borrow.

If someone else has a home-made one and is prepared to share their info, that would be different, I suppose.

Well........ I got a 12v cordless from Argos for £9.99. Don't need it so I might as well play. In actual fact I was going to take the motor out as an alternative to using a wiper motor, but that cradle seems good (and cheap).
