Organised a meet up with 410Phil to do some ferrteting. Met a the usual place at about 10am, and made our way down to the fields. Phils got some cracking workers, they really know how to dig in ;)

This place is such a challenge, due to the amount of brambles and thorn bushes. We netted up as best we could, whilst getting cut to pieces.

My hands and legs are cut to bits, so Phil must be crying by now

We did have a comedy moment, when a tiny rabbit bolted one hole, took one look at me, and ran straight back into another. It managed to run straight through the mesh in the nets

Have a look:

The weather stayed good, apart from the odd shower

We had a small dig at the end, as one ferret (or so we thought) had dug in. As we started packing stuff up, a rabbit bolted straight out into an open field, in daylight. This aint normal, so we went over and squeeked the hole. 30 seconds later, the ferret walked out

A very hard day, as the foliage made it difficult. Was great to meet Phil, a smashing chap with some good ferrets! :good:

Sadly, we didnt get good numbers, but there is always tomorrow :good:

Got stuck in traffic so was ten minutes picking up my lad from school , you should have seen the look on his teachers face when I rolled up covered in **** and stinking of ferrets.

Really nice to get out with MM today what a smashing bloke :good: :good:

Next time we shall take the chainsaw and the brush cutters, that corner was heaving I am sure, but the inpenetrable brambles and gorse make it IMPOSSIBLE to net up at all.

Not massive numbers but this was sport not work . All in all a great day with a top bloke and the frits worked well especially that little jill.
