Stock refurbishment Oil or Wax

ive refurbished several beech bsa meteor stocks in the last 12 months, and used the same sequence on all of them with good results.

 

strip back to bare wood, using several grades of sand paper (getting finer each time) finish off with 1500 grit. go over once with very fine wire wool.

i use red root oil on mine, put some in the palm of your hand and rub into stock hard enough to produce some heat.

repeat once a day for 3-5 days dependant on how dark you want it.

leave to dry completely somewhere warm for 2 days. then finish with several coats of clear bri-wax.

 

works very, very well.
