C00KIE
My personal response would be - "always buy Japanese" But my knowledge is limited to older vehicles than you are looking to buy at a guess with that price tag. Just re-read that post and it is no help what so ever, is it.
paddywack12
If your not going off road and prefer to walk why get a 4x4
HDAV
Jeep have dodgy quality and not a good rep Toyota the reverse my dad had an old N-reg Rav4 petrol it got written off and now has D4-D on a 53 plate used for towing a boat on soft sand and does a grand job the old one was fun but not very comfy on long runs the D4-D is lovely very nice car. Skoda Yeti are getting close to your budget for the 1.2 TSi but only 2WD i think. Rav4 used http://www.whatcar.com/car-reviews/used/toyota/rav4-crossover/full-review/25539-3 Patriot new http://www.topgear.com/uk/jeep/patriot/verdict Rav4 new http://www.topgear.com/uk/toyota/rav4/verdict I wouldnt go for a patriot...... or the compass Edited October 28, 2011 by HDAV

Hamster
RAV , wife bought a new one in 2002, kept it 4 years and it was superb, sold it for £3800 less than we'd paid for it . I bought myself a V plater as a knockabout 2 years ago and it too has been a delight.
