Ever have need to call on your insurance ?

Most of us never have a need to call on their shoot insurance thankfully and we constantly hear about which insurer has the best cover but has anyone on PW had to call BASC or CA or SACS and did their treatment of you live up to your expectation and premium costs ?

When it comes to the crunch which one if any, shines?

Can we hear from people who have first or immediate second hand info please ?

Thankfully not.

However, I regard the insurance aspect of my shooting organisation as an add on freebie and not something I would rely on as my only insurance option should disaster strike.

I much prefer to have in place a comprehensive insurance package from a broker who specialises in shoot/field sports insurance designed to specifically suit my needs.

Not me personally but I was on a shoot when a gun shot a beaters spaniel. The spaniel lived but lost a leg.

The gun was insured with BASC and the beater claimed against the policy. Full payment was made for vets fees etc plus money to the value of a trained springer as a replacement for the now the three legged one which now not able to work to its former ability. All the monies were paid out quickly and the whole process was hassle free.

Also know a chap who got shot in the hand whilst sharing a hide pigeon shooting. This was a few years back and I do not know the full details but the injured party was happy with his payout from the BASC insurer's.
