stubby
found yet another "escapee" in the garden today, proving crays dont need to be kept in water, anyway I digress, after saturdays trip out with bakerboy crayfishing, and seeing his brothers attempt at a catch net using a bicycle wheel, I though Id give making a couple a go so, find yourself 2 spare wheels and cut the spokes out I first laid some sparrow netting over a dustbin lid to give the netting a bowl shape, before cutting and attaching with cable ties to the rims I then used some 2mm bondwire as my anchor straps, fitted with 6" of wooden dowel at top, to act as a float and keep the wires upright, and out of the way when trap submerged finished both with a couple of hours, now to just find somewhere in essex/london to try them out, otherwise Ill have to sneakly try bakerboys patch out again, lol Edited November 1, 2011 by stubby

Hants Smudge
I used to enjoy fishing for crab like this when I was a youngster ( quite a few years ago ) when I lived in Guernsey, they provided many a meal for the family over the years. I still see people fishing like this on my return trips to "home". Happy memories
