would a silencer make any difference to HW99s if so witch silencer will fit?

thanx

Hi mate ,the majority of the noise out of any springer actually comes from the mechanism itself(spring, compression tube, etc) rather then the report out of the muzzle.

There are several types of silencer available from a simple push fit type,to a threaded one which obviously requires your barrel to be machined .

Blackpool air rifles stock the push on fit type for a HW99s for £49.95 .

Remember the barrel diameter on a 99s is 15mm and not the more common 16mm.

Heres a link to Blackpool air rifles,go to the home page then accesories, then silencers its near the bottom of the page Good Luck.

get the genuine HW99 one: makes a big difference!

You do need the one for the 99, as it is indeed an odd size, and it has a cutout for the foresight, which you remove, fit silencer and then refit.

The 99 is a fairly long rifle, and the silencer is about 180mm from memory, so does make it a bit hard to use in a car etc. :good:

I have an HW50S in South Africa (same as the HW99S) and personally I wouldn't bother adding a silencer. I find it's quiet enough without one. My neighbours haven't complained and loads of doves and other small game never heard the shot that dispatched them.

Cheers, Deke
