Sco77w
My ESS bitch is 5 weeks in to her pregnancy today and is showing the signs (filling out a bit and her nipples have grown) I know she will eat and drink more while she is feeding the pups but do I need to change or add to her food while she is in pup. This is the first time I've ever had a dog mated and I am getting loads of help from the owner of the stud dog but I don't want to become a pest. monster1971
we found our ess didnt eat much more during pregnancy but did eat more often, its when she has the pups it really changes and boy does that change we were shocked at the difference we normally feed dry food but went on to wet food so she could get it down quicker (i think she was eating so much it made her jaws ache ) two weeks in she was on four standard tins per day plus a bit of dry and milk suppliment and that was with only seven pups not all dogs are the same but hope this helps best of luck with the pups

monster1971
cant remember the name but we bought it from pets at home it can also be used for feeding pups that arnt feeding as well as the others and its a good idea to buy a tub anyway as you dont want to be running around trying to find some if a pup is struggling all our pups grew to be really healthy and we didnt loose any so it must have done some good
docky
we have a litter of twelve ess pups all nice and healthy,we started feeding her a half tub of cottage cheeses a day in morning feed and half tin of sardines with evening feed.Once she has the pups you need to put her onto puppy food and up it to whole tins she will need feeding small and often but keep the cottage cheese and sardines going its a very good way of adding calcium but not at dangerous levels where it causes defects hope this helps mate and hold on to your hat if i can help anymore message me good luck
