Millomite
I have a BSA mercury and it's lost a lot of its power. How difficult is it to replace a spring and seals and will this help?
Lightning22
Hi, The Mercury is quite easy to strip as the back block screws in, the tricky bit comes when you reach the end of the thread as there is quite a bit of preload on the spring. I used to do this with the back end of the rifle in a sack to catch all the bits. Best option is to replace the breech and piston seals, mainspring and lubricant all together. trakker01
nice rifle to mess with, you just need a good vice & wood blocks in vice mouth take apart carefully, have some rags & lube oil..& spare set of hands if first time... good springs & parts available, makes an exellent tool......... had many years of fun with one, not what the bunnies thought....bless !! he he he
