Hi, The Mercury is quite easy to strip as the back block screws in, the tricky bit comes when you reach the end of the thread as there is quite a bit of preload on the spring. I used to do this with the back end of the rifle in a sack to catch all the bits. Best option is to replace the breech and piston seals, mainspring and lubricant all together. Rich

I'm sure Freud would be able to explain what part of their anatomy they are feeling shortchanged in. I wonder if they are going to start letting HGV tyres down on Motorway service stations, and aircraft tyres on the runway? There again, the answer's obvious, they'd either get a kicking or shot. You'll probably get as many verdicts as you do responses, I've had a few PCP's and the one that is staying for good is my s410k, mine is in .177 which doesn't really matter as long as you hit the beggars in the right place, and it makes life easier for HFT. Cheers Rich
