BangBangNik
Just got back into shooting after a 13 year break. At the minute I'm only shooting clays but would like to get back into shooting at some live quarry. Just wondering if anybody had any advise on how to best go about this or, even better, if somebody wouldn't mind taking me under their wing, (no pun intended) and take me out with them. Cheers Nik

Also joining a club or going to the local clay shoots will help get you contacts, as will putting up a sign in your local gunshop

I used to beat when I was a lad so I approached two shoots and did a couple of seasons. Through that I got involved in a walk and stand shoot. Then I rented a day's shooting at two different places one November. It cost a few bob, but it was worth it as I met people and got involved in two driven syndicates and a rough shoot. It all got very expensive! If you book days IMHO it's best to find them close to home, if poss.

I will PM Nik and see if I can help him out. I don't know just how much help I will be able to affer for a while as my back is starting to play up and if it gets any worse it will stop me from getting out and about! Anyway, I'll see what I can do! Nic, you have a PM inbound mate!

BangBangNik
Thanks very much for the replies guys. Cottonseed, I used to beat when I was a lad aswell, I was only about 7 and got a fiver a week. I thought it was amazing and I used to love it. It's something I would love to do again So will be looking into it. Redditch, I am going to my local clay shoot quite regularly at the mo, I'm going wait till my face gets familiar there and start asking around. Cheers for the tips guys, it just seems a bit overwhelming trying to get into game shooting when you have no contacts in those circles to start with. But I'm sure I'm no the only person to have been in this position and am sure I will soon find my feet. Thanks for the pm frenchie I have replied and will be phoning you later. Thanks again Nik

Thanks again Nik If your stuggling for names and faces but want to get a gun or half gun in a syndicate, then ask at Bond and Bywaters, Kelbrook and Malmo perhaps put something on the Boards? Thanks Kent, Kelbrook is my local clay ground so I am going to ask around up there. I will also look into the other places you have suggested. Thanks.
