  1. Look up Airtech in Shropshire. You can get steel and lighter titanium air tubes cut to your preferred length. He will also be able to fit the regulator
  2. Write to the paper and put them straight. It's pure politics from the Police and bure bull**** from Gun Control Network.
  3. Cottonseed

    PPI company

I can understand anyone not wanting to pay commission to a PPI agent, but when they come into their own is when a bank tries to wriggle out of a refund. I had this from a bank with whom I had a credit card--they said I wasn't entitled. I set the dogs on them to take it to the Ombudsman, which is more complicated. I got £5K.
  4. I remember buying an El Chimbo double hammer .410 in 1972. It was £22 brand new! I also remember selling it for fifteen quid when I was stuck for the gas bill and we had our first child.
  5. Lead can go through certain farm building roves easily. I imagine steel or other harder alloys would do even more damage, plus the danger of ricochets.
  6. I'm mystified why you want to zero in an Ultra at 40 yards. Between 25 yards and 30 yards is more normal. By my calculations you'd have to hold under for much of your trajectory. Also, you talk about buying a bipod to hold the rifle steady...How are you holding it steady to zero? Bowkett, XTX and Airtech will improve any Ultra, but before you spend anymore money I think you need to have a rethink on your zero range. Do you know about Chairgun, the free ballistic download from Hawke Optics? Worth a look.
  7. This is very like a robbery at Longridge in Lancashire about a year back. In that one the certificate holder was still at work when they steamed in at teatime. Children were present as their mother was assaulted and keys were demanded. They got away with shotguns and rifles. As far as I know, they were never caught. ********.
  8. Self-important ****. Let him do it--we'll all be watching his every move and waiting until he has to cull vermin and sick deer with guns.
  9. How about the alumni who have gone into the City--and possibly shoot themselves? Shake them down!
  10. Raw, unrotted manure can have a toxic effect on some plants. But it's still May, so time to replant.
  11. I don't know about a spate, but there has been one case of aggravated burglary to steal guns in the Longridge, Ribble Valley area. Very nasty; wife and young children at home, husband absent, wife violently assaulted and threatened. We should never advertise we have guns in the house.
  12. Birds without Wings by Louis la Bernieres--Author of Captain Corelli's Mandolin--but set in Turkey at the time of the Greek/Turkey population exchange in the 1920s. Ulverton-by Adam Thorpe--a series of stories which illustrate the history of a village in the south of England from the time of the English Civil War to the recent past.
  13. Over the years I spent quite a bit of time drinking with Conservatives. Being more experienced politically, they kept their opinions close and private. I've heard far worse intolerance and 'right-wing' comments from Tories than any of the recent outings of daft UKIP candidates.
  14. What else would you expect from a London-centric, Marxist bigot?
  15. Good post and good tactical ideas IMHO. It's an uphill struggle when most of the population have never seen a real gun and base their views on guns on the constant misuse of firearms portrayed by Tv and particularly, Hollywood--often by actors who make millions from that portrayal, yet never miss a chance to bleat against guns. Similarly with animals, most people, exposed to Walt Disney cartoons, bestow human characteristics and emotions on all sentient creatures. They can't help misunderstand that the majority of Europe's countryside has been managed for a thousand years and the death by the culling and harvesting .Most anti-game shooters in my part of Northern England are amazed to learn that the woodlands we still have exist only because the gentry and rich industrialists planted them for pheasant shooting Shooting and hunting's biggest problem is apathy. We're a tiny proportion of the population, but if all of us made the effort to write to our MPs, write to point out prejudice in weekly and regional daily papers, or phoned radio stations, we'd be in a better position..
  16. Don't forget that horrible **** Mellors was the man who said anyone who wanted to own a gun was 'a pervert.' Our own ********** was one of those who finally helped get the perverted Mellors pushed out of politics. If Max Clifford was involved in screwing up Mellors' career it was the best day's work he ever did. But I still hope Clifford never comes out of jail alive. Why is a shooting man and firearms expert with the initials MY censored by the PW computer?
  17. Is it cos they is black?
  18. I'm sure at one time you could get a spare set of baffles on a rod for the PH moderator. Or did that stop with the demise of Parker Hale?
  19. Boris Johnson is exactly what we don't want in high office. He's a **** and three quarters every minute of every day.
  20. Clarkson completely denied using the word ****** in a tweet published this morning. Yet by this evening he was asking for forgiveness and admitting trying to mumble the word. He appeared to suggest he mumbled it because he suddenly realised he was going to use the word. I never took to the man, but I'd have thought an experienced broadcaster like him wouldn't have made such a mistake. He could've used the previous words 'Eeny, meany, miny mo and pulled a face--thus shocking his audience and getting a laugh. I don't believe a word of it and think he gets his kicks out of trying to sneak in comments he knows will cause controversy. On the other hand, it wasn't directed at any person and I find this rhyme far less offensive and ultimately frightening than some twittering PC arsewipes with **** all else to do getting offended and self-righteous about what words we can and can't use in broadcasts. If you want to look for racism, look at countries who treat some of their population like cattle, or who carpet bomb Middle-Eastern countries and kill innocent people on behalf of big business.
