Tiff
Well ive been looking for some pigeons to shoot for a couple of weeks and found that they were not feeding on the rape.So today i went to a little wood and shot them as they were coming over the treetops to land. I took the new semi auto as i wanted to see if i could hit anything as i normaly shoot an over and under.Final bag 21 pigeon 2 crows,2squirrels and a duck. Thats a lot for me,the gun needs a bit of getting used to but im pleased so far.Forgot to take my bloody camera though and i ran out of shells.I just wasnt expecting it. WoodyPopper
I also had an unexpectedly fun morning. There's a big private wood right down one side of my permission. Yesterday I spotted a flight line from the wood. I was out there at 7.30 this morning, sitting under it. There was a strong wind from behind me and all sorts of weather. I had drizzle, driving rain and bright sunshine. Oddly, the worse the weather got, the more active the pigeons were. I had the most fun I've had in ages. I ended up with 15 pigeons for 40 shots. That's a pretty big day for me. I've only been pigeon shooting since March. Give me a morning like that any time over decoying.

Tiff
went to the same spot today with more shells this time but only managed 12.But most were high fast birds going over the top. They had beechmast in their crops.Great fun better than decoying over a field.
