Brigsy
Hi, About 5-7 years ago I owned a 687 O/U and shot clays around and about Herts. Short story, sold guns. Now just bought a second hand Winchester SX3 and took it out for the first time today. First stand 8 out of 10. Pleased, thinking I love this gun. That was about all I hit! Anyhow, after about twenty shells, I noticed that my fingers on the inside were wacking me in the lip and have caused a swelling. Never happened to me before.I ended up holding my fingers along the underside of the grip rather than around. What do we think, LOP to short? or have I forgotten how to mount? AndyBaz
Practice you mount but sounds very odd and the sx3 has no kick so
Dr_evil
Does sound odd, I fired plenty of shells from my SX3 and never got hit in the face by it…….Xtrema2 well theres another story
Miserableolgit
Has the stock been shortened?
Brigsy
Not shortened as far as I know. There is very little recoil I must say. It seems that my hand is just in the way. I shall add one of the spacers behind the pad to lengthen and put a shim in that lowers the comb. and practice my mount. -Mongrel-
Maybe measure the LOP just to confirm, should be 14 1/4" as standard as far as I can gather from the Winchester website.
Brigsy
I have added in one of the stock extensions to make the LOP to about 14.5. I have also added one of the shims to drop the comb a bit as well. Will have to see if this helps!
