nick_c
Hello all, Does anyone have the shoot dates for Valley View? There website seems to be down at the moment. I was wondering if they had a shoot on over the xmas period. Cheer's, Nick.
huffhuff
I'd be interested to know too. We're due to go back now it's under new management. Used to be a cracking little shoot.
Dunkield
Last time I looked at their site it redirected me to the main site for Hornet. So I am wondering if it has been taken over by them? I would be interested to know the outcome as it was one of favourite shoots.

huffhuff
Well, that's what I had been told a few weeks back. You're right, the valley view website directs to hornet/college farm website. I rang the number to get fixtures...the lady at the other end knew nothing about it. Says they don't run valley view?!?!? I rang the guy who runs hornet/college (Kevin) but no reply yet. I guess they may have just bought the domain. Who knows. I'll try him gain later. Regardless, I think the valley view dates are every two weeks with one coming up this Sunday. Not sure on Chritmas fixtures. Dunkield
cant get on website either be intersting if its owned by the same people at Hornet would that mean they could do registered shoots? Let's hope not, one thing Ian was adamant about was that he wanted nothing to do the CPSA. His 'straw bale' layouts were as good if not better than any registered shoot I have seen. huffhuff
I'll try and pin somebody down for fixtures. I used to go once a month when I was living over that way, great layout! Let's hope it has stayed the same...

huffhuff
Finally, after lots of digging. The 'new' Valley View is being run by Adam Lund and 'World Sporting Junior Champion' Tom Ward. The new website is http://www.valleyviewclub.com (I assume the lot at Hornet bought the domain name after it lapsed. Hornet and old valleyview site registered to same person). The Crimbo fixtures are not up there yet, but I just rang Adam and here they are; 18th December Boxing Day - 50 bird sporting New Years Day 15th January and then fortnightly after that. The phone was cracking up and I didn't catch if it is 50 or 100 bird layout normally. He is going to get the website fixture list updated today. Case solved. Dunkield
Maybe explains why I never got an answer back from Kevin @ Hornet I will keep an eye on progress. That is a 100 bird ground, 50 isn't really going to cut it [iMO]
twitchynik
Would you need fibre or plastic wad carts, Ben..?
huffhuff
Would you need fibre or plastic wad carts, Ben..? Yes, very good NicholARSE! It can only be a 100-bird, surely Shirley. It's a big old ground and the price is £30. It has to be 100 at that cost! There is no World Sporting Junior Champion called Tom Ward. However Tom Ward was a Universal Trench Junior World Champion, he had some discussion in the past with Adam Lund but it never went any further than that.
