Shooting Tom
does anyone have a rotor coy for a pigeon magnet if so how easy is it to put on and do you think it is a good addition to the decoy kit.as you are looking at about 200 pounds for the set up. Also are the 4 armed magnets any better than 2 armed magnet, as i have a 2 armed magnet is it really a good buy for 170 odd pounds..
Cranfield
I have only seen one 4 armed rotary and it looked very "crowded" and ungainly, I also imagine it knocks the battery out quickly. I suppose if you really extended the arms it wouldn't look so bad, but you would also need a bigger battery.
Redditch
I have only seen one 4 armed rotary and it looked very "crowded" and ungainly, I also imagine it knocks the battery out quickly. I suppose if you really extended the arms it wouldn't look so bad, but you would also need a bigger battery. I have a four armed magnet (Picked itup from A1 Decoy for £99.95 with 7.5 ah battery and speed controller plus all cables. The four arms have to normal and two slightly longer arms. I have it on a 22 ah battery so battery life is not a problem. It came with a 7.5 ah battery which I now use for my lamp. The speed isn't very fast, but with 4 foam flyer deeks on it is acceptable and does the job well. Personally I think a two or a four arm are as good as each other, just slightly more battery use on the four arm, although a 7.5 ah battery isn't really good for long on any magnet, a 10-11 ah would really be minimum, with a 14-22 ah offering an all day option.
